Welcome to the Moto-Morini Mailing List

The purpose of this list is to provide a forum for Morini owners and 
fanciers to ask questions, swap ideas and generally provide mutual support.

To send a message to the mailing list, address it to 
"morini@smoke.com.au" (or "morini-digest@smoke.com.au" if you're subscribed 
to the digest), NOT the address you used to initially subscribe to the list. 

Note that the list server won't accept messages from non subscribers, so 
if you send a message to the mailing list from a different address from 
where you subscribed it will not be forwarded. If you really need to be 
able to send messages from a different address to where you receive them,
mail me at  owner-morini@smoke.com.au and I will set it up.   

As I have no idea how much traffic this list may or may not generate the 
current policies should be considered as interim.

There is now a digest version of the list. To subscribe send mail to 
majordomo@smoke.com.au with 
subscribe morini-digest
in the body of the message. You will also need to unsubscribe to the 
normal morini list unless you want to recive the digest AND the 
individual messages.

The digest is set to send at least 1 digest per day, or when the size 
of the queued messages is 50K. 


Policies
========
Discussion should relate, at least vaguely, to Moto-Morinis, Italian 
bikes or at least motorcycling in general.

Please do not send binaries such as gifs, jpegs etc. to the list. Some 
people have to pay for what they download, and don't appreciate 500K gifs 
appearing in their mailboxes. A better solution is to ask if anyone is 
interested and email the file to them or alternatively post a URL to a 
web or FTP site where the file in question can be downloaded.

Commercial posts are OK at this point as long as -
a, They are posted by someone subscribed to the list
b, They are brief, specific  and to the point.
b, They aren't repetitive. No one wants to see the same message from 'Bobs 
discount bike bits' every week telling us nothing.
Note that this policy is subject to change!

Keep it friendly. If you think someones talking crap, say so without 
resorting to personal abuse.

Privacy
======= 
The list of subscribers is not used for any other purpose than sending out
the mailing list. The Majordomo "who" command is not enabled on this list
so no-one can get the list of subscribers. However I can't protect
against your email address being collected by another subscriber to the
list after you send an email to the list.
